Turquoise water of the Blue Pond in Biei, Hokkaido, with trees growing straight in the middle of it makes the place look otherworldly. Still, the pond is real and it’s gathering popularity among tourists.
Scientists don’t know exactly what gives the Blue Pond its incredible aquamarine color, but one of the possible explanations is that aluminum rich water from the river nearby creates a colloid – a solution of dispersed microscopic particles – that reflects sunlight in a peculiar way.
Blue jelly sold near the Pond.
Blue soft drink. Don't worry - it's not the water from the Pond, it's just a regular blue soda.
